Mobile App Development

Custom iOS and Android apps for your customers, staff and operations, built around the way your business actually runs.

Support and monthly improvementsJust now

Superstack builds custom iOS and Android apps for customers, staff, contractors and field teams. It is mobile app development NZ owners and operations managers can shape around a real process: the job, the booking, the site check, the timesheet. You get one app that matches how your business already works, connected to your accounting software and the systems you already run, and supported long after launch.

The problem

the day runs on paper, texts and phone calls

  • Our crews run the day from paper job sheets, texts and a group chat. Nobody knows what has actually been done.
  • Customers ring us to book, pay or ask where their job is at, and the phone goes all day.
  • We tried an off-the-shelf app. It made us quote and schedule its way, so staff stopped using it.
  • Customer details live in the job system, the accounting software and a spreadsheet, and the three never agree on anything.
  • I find out what happened on site today when the paperwork lands on Friday, and by then it's too late to fix.

What Superstack builds

custom mobile app development from scoping to support

Every app we build starts with the process it replaces, not a feature list. We follow a job from booking to invoice, then design a screen for each person who touches it. The stages below are the same whether the app is for customers, staff, contractors or field crews. What changes is what each screen shows.

Example workflow

The first call is a conversation about your process, not a sales pitch. From it we write a fixed-scope proposal, so you know what the app does and costs before we build anything. Next, your team taps through a clickable prototype on a phone and tells us what is wrong. Then we build in two-week sprints, each ending with a working version you test on real jobs. Your people decide when it is ready. We handle the store releases, then keep improving the app every month.

Integrations

Your accounting software receives the invoice when a job closes in the app and sends payment status back. Stripe takes card payments inside a customer app. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 handle staff logins and calendars. Twilio sends an SMS when a customer prefers a text to a push. Your existing CRM or job system connects through its API, so the app adds to what you already run.

Any system with an API connects. Click a logo to visit them.

Add AI when it actually makes sense

AI is optional, and most first versions ship without it. We add it once the app is in daily use and one task clearly deserves it. Read about how we use AI and where it sits in business process automation.

Web app, mobile app and customer portal

Web app

The office runs the web app: creating jobs, setting rosters, managing customers, checking what came in from the field and pulling reports. It is the admin side of every mobile app we build, and it runs in any browser with nothing to install.

Mobile app

Staff, contractors and field crews carry the mobile app. It shows today's jobs, the forms for each one, the camera and the signature screen. It works offline and syncs when it can. A customer version handles bookings, payments and job status.

Customer portal

Customers who do not want another app use the portal in a browser to book, pay, see photos of finished work and download invoices. The web app, mobile app and portal read from one database, so a job updated on site shows everywhere.

FAQ

It depends on screens, roles and connections, and whether the app is native for one platform or shared across both. That holds for business app development New Zealand wide. A staff app with a job list, forms and accounting sync costs far less than a customer app with payments, bookings and two store listings. We give a fixed-scope price after the discovery call.

It depends on scope, and the fixed-scope proposal gives you a timeline instead of a guess. What sets the pace is the number of screens, how many systems the app connects to and how quickly your team tests each sprint. A tight first version goes live sooner than an app that tries to do everything. Store review adds a little at the end.

No, not always. If the app is for staff on company iPhones, an iOS app alone is enough, and the same goes for a fleet of Android handhelds. If customers will use it, you need both, because you do not control what they carry, and a shared codebase keeps the cost below two separate builds. Our iOS and Android pages cover each platform.

You do. We open the Apple and Google developer accounts in your business's name, so the listings, reviews and ratings stay with you if we ever part ways. The source code, database and documentation are yours as well, agreed in writing before the build starts. Any app developers NZ businesses hire should offer the same, so ask early.

Yes. Your accounting software comes up in every build: a job completed in the app becomes a draft invoice without anyone retyping it, and payment status flows back. Beyond your accounting software, the app connects to whatever runs your business now: a CRM, a job system, payroll, Stripe for card payments or Twilio for SMS. If it has an API, we connect it. If not, we find another route.

Yes. We prepare the listings, screenshots, privacy details and test accounts, submit to both stores and deal with the reviewers until the app is approved. The accounts sit in your name and we manage them. For a staff-only app, we set up private distribution so it never appears in a public store. Every later update goes through us the same way.

We do. Launch starts the support phase rather than ending the project. We fix bugs under ongoing support, and the improvements your team asks for after real use go into monthly releases, along with the changes each new iOS and Android version demands. That continuity is the reason to choose an app development company NZ based, rather than a one-off build nobody maintains.

Yes, and we recommend it. The first version covers one process for one group, such as job check-in for the field crew, so it goes live sooner. Once it is in daily use, you know exactly what to add next, and we build the backend with that in mind. Customer bookings, a contractor app or a portal come later on the same database.
