Custom Web App Development

Secure, browser-based applications built around your workflow, hosted, supported and connected to the tools you already use.

Monthly improvementsJust now

A website tells people about your business. A web app runs it. Superstack delivers custom web app development NZ and Australian businesses use to replace spreadsheets, ageing desktop systems and off-the-shelf tools that nearly fit. You get software that opens in any browser, with logins, roles, a proper database, reporting and a live connection to your accounting software, hosted in New Zealand or Australia and supported after launch.

The problem

the one thing your software cannot do

  • We've tried every off-the-shelf product going. Each does most of what we need and none does the one thing our business depends on.
  • Our job system lives on one office PC. If that machine dies or the person who runs it is away, work stops.
  • The pricing spreadsheet goes round by email. Nobody is sure which version is current, and someone quoted from last year's.
  • Contractors and customers need to see their own jobs, but the only way in is a shared password we can't take back.
  • We asked our vendor for one extra field on the job form. The answer was a roadmap, a ticket number and silence.

What Superstack builds

custom web app development, end to end

A web app is software that lives in a browser and does a job: it holds your records, runs your process and lets the right people in. We build the whole thing, from process mapping to hosting, and keep building after launch.

Example workflow

This is the delivery process, not a feature. Discovery and the prototype are conversations: your team tells us how the work happens and corrects the screens. The first sprint builds the core workflows and puts them in front of a handful of staff on real jobs, so the feedback is about real problems. The second sprint adds integrations and reporting once the core is proven. After launch, the monthly cycle continues: you decide what gets built next, and we build, test and release it without interrupting the team.

Integrations

Your accounting software takes draft invoices and customer details and marks jobs paid when the money arrives. Stripe and GoCardless take card payments and direct debits inside the app. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 handle sign-in, email and calendars. Twilio sends SMS. Shopify orders flow in as jobs, HubSpot contacts sync both ways, and any system with an API connects the same way.

Add AI when it actually makes sense

AI is optional, and most web apps do not need it on day one. When it earns its place, we add it to the records and workflows you already have. See how we use AI and where it fits into business process automation.

Web app, mobile app and customer portal

Web app

Managers, administrators and anyone at a desk work in the web app. They enter and approve work, run reports, manage users and set the rules the app follows. It opens in any browser with nothing to install and no server under a desk.

Mobile app

Field staff, drivers and technicians get the same app shaped for a phone: today's list, the job form, photos, signatures and a map. It works offline in a basement or a rural black spot and syncs when the signal returns.

Customer portal

Customers and contractors log in to see their own jobs, approve quotes, download invoices and raise requests instead of emailing to ask. All three run on one database, so a change made in the field shows in the office and on the customer's screen at once.

FAQ

It depends on how many workflows, roles and integrations the first version needs. Customising one Superstack module costs far less than a bespoke platform with a portal and several integrations. After discovery you get a written scope and a price for it, and the number only moves if you change what is in it. Compare that with what you pay now in licences and workarounds.

As long as the core workflows need, and no longer. Discovery and a clickable prototype come first, then the first sprint, a pilot with your team and a second sprint for integrations and reporting. Customising one module is measured in weeks. A bespoke platform with several integrations takes months. You get a dated plan after discovery, and the pilot puts real software in your team's hands before launch.

In New Zealand or Australia, on cloud infrastructure in an account that belongs to your business. You hold the account, grant or remove our access, and can move the app to another provider or developer if you ever need to. We run it day to day as part of support, but the keys are yours. Nothing sits on a PC in your office.

We design security in. Every user has their own login, single sign-on where you have Microsoft 365 or Google, and two-factor authentication for anyone handling sensitive data. Roles decide who sees and changes what. The app encrypts all traffic and stored data and logs every change with who made it and when. For a secure web app for business use, this is the baseline, not an add-on.

Yes. The code, the database and the data are yours, and the contract says so before we write a line. Nothing is rented: the app runs in your own hosting account and the source code lives in a repository you can access. If you ever want another team to take it on, they can. Support from us is a choice, not a condition.

Yes. Every web app we build is responsive, so it works on a phone from day one. The next step is a progressive web app, which installs to the home screen and works offline. If you later need a store listing or deeper phone features, we build a native or cross-platform app on the same database and API. Web app developers who plan for this make it a small step, not a second project.

The app keeps working, because we build for that from the first sprint. We design the database for growth, the hosting scales up when load rises, and nothing depends on one machine. Ten times the users usually means more roles, sites and reports rather than a new architecture, and those are ordinary monthly improvements. Hosting costs rise with usage, and we tell you before that happens.

We do. Support is part of every build, not a separate department. You get a named contact who knows your app, a way to log issues and requests, and agreed response times for anything that stops work. Beyond fixes, the monthly improvement cycle keeps the app moving with your business. In web-based software development, the years after launch matter more than the launch itself.
